- Mous New Phone Case Put To The Test With 160-ft Bungee Jump!
Rewritten in 2024. With the upcoming launch of the new iPhone 14 just around the corner, smartphone accessory brand Mous had been working on a protective case for the launch of the new model. Mous were looking for a unique way to demonstrate just how effective their phone cases were. They reached out to UK Bungee Club in search of a way to showcase that their accessory would be able to survive much more than just day-to-day drops. After brainstorming a few ideas, we decided that the best way to show off the capabilities of the case would be to throw a phone to the ground as someone performed a Bungee Jump from 160-feet! Mous CEO and Co-Founder, James Griffith took part in the Bungee Jump at our Bray Lake location in Windsor. As he jumped, he was tasked with launching the smartphone 160ft towards the gravelled road below. Despite the phone making quite the thud as it hit the ground, the device and the Mous Limitless 5.0 case were recovered by our ground team completely unscathed! Watch the phone being thrown here! As our full set-up was in place at Bray Lake, this was the perfect opportunity to experiment with another Mous product, the IntraLock Phone Mount System. With the main selling point of the system being how easily the phone can clip into the mount, it was time to put this to the test. The Bungee crew set up a floating platform in the lake below, which was fitted with the IntraLock Mount. Phone in hand, one of our team jumped out and attempted to attach the phone to the mount below. After a few attempts, the phone was clipped in successfully! See the IntraLock Bungee Jump here!
- Joel Corry and Tom Grennan Take Their New Single To New Heights With 160-ft Bungee Jump!
Rewritten in 2024 Atlantic Records were on the prowl for something with a bit of wow factor when looking to launch 'Lionheart', a new single from Joel Corry and Tom Grennan. To promote the new track, Atlantic Records were interested in organising a series of challenges for the artists to undertake. At the beginning of October, the UK Bungee crew made our way down to one of our well-established sites, Bray Lake Watersports in Windsor. The production crew met us on site and after a swift set-up we were ready to meet the musicians, and were excited to unveil the extreme experiences. The day kicked off with a Catapult, also know as a reverse-bungee. As the name suggests, this differs from a regular bungee jump - in a Catapult, you begin firmly on the ground. The cage then ascends up to height until the rope is fully stretched out. Once one of our team releases the cord, the rope catapults the participant high into the air! A highly competitive game of Rock, Paper, Scissors was played to decide which of the duo would take on the Catapult. After three nail-biting rounds, Tom came out on top, and Joel headed over to get harnessed up. This Catapult was a great warm-up for the main event - a 160-ft Bungee Jump! Both Joel Corry and Tom Grennan would be taking part in the Bungee, in the form of a Tandem Jump! The artists prepared themselves by practiced their Tandem hug, and made their way over to our Bungee cage. As they reached the top, Joel explained that their new single would be out on October 21st, before getting the classic '3, 2, 1 Bungee' countdown from our Jumpmaster. Out they went, with many screams and shouts to be heart from the both of them! With the adrenaline heightened, they decided to do a few more jumps with other members of the team (probably to get their own back). Tom completed another tandem with a member of the production team, and Joel shared the thrill with a member of the marketing team. Overall, a successful day for both Atlantic Records and UK Bungee Club.
- Channel 4 TV Show Take On Bungee Jump For Stand Up To Cancer!
UK Bungee Club feature on Channel 4 Bungee Jump for Don't Look Down for Stand Up To Cancer Recently, Big Bang Experiences partnered with the cast and contestants of Channel 4's 'Don't Look Down for SUTC,' a program dedicated to supporting Stand Up To Cancer. The 4th episode in the series aired on Thursday the 2nd of November, with Big Bang first featuring at the 30 minute mark! This series features ten celebrity contestants, with Paddy McGuiness leading as the host and team captain. The programme revolves around daunting height-based challenges, which are designed to test the mettle of these contestants, many of whom have a significant fear of heights. This season witnessed the celebrities embark on "fear training", amid the breathtaking backdrop of the Austrian Alps. These rigorous tests and challenges serve as preparation for the ultimate feat: a never-before-attempted high-wire walk! However, one of the contestants was finding the training more difficult than the others; UK Bungee Club was called in to help Chris Hughes conquer his fear of heights. We were up for the task and delivered our heart-racing 300-foot bungee jump, the tallest in the UK. Our talented team travelled to the London Stadium, Stratford, and got to work preparing the ultimate bungee test! Although apprehensive at first, after some words of encouragement from both Paddy McGuiness and our Jumpmaster, Chris managed to put his fears aside, remembered why he was challenging himself, and managed to take the leap! Afterwards, he felt more prepared for the final challenge and he joined the team to confidently complete the 35-foot training high wire! Watch the episode by clicking here!
- Spectacular Car Bungee Jump For Nissan France, In The Heart Of Paris!
Big Bang Experiences and UK Bungee Club recently completed one of our most impressive stunts yet. Working with Nissan France, we were able to deliver a Car Bungee stunt in the heart of Paris for the launch of the new Nissan Qashqai. This project, which took place in La Défense, Paris' business district, was particularly challenging due to a tight timeline of under a month. Led by technical director Andy Rydell, the team worked tirelessly to deliver the stunt on time, and were able to produce a magnificent result. Nissan France selected this daring stunt from several proposed concepts for a couple of key reasons; it was dramatic, it was possible within the short timeframe, and most importantly, it perfectly embodied their current slogan, “Defy Ordinary”. Unlike previous car bungee jumps, the Qashqai had to closely resemble the real model, meaning fewer components could be removed to reduce weight. However, by making adjustments like swapping glass for Perspex and removing the engine, the team were able to achieve a feasible weight for the stunt. Executing this project in such a confined urban space required meticulous planning and precision. The bungee ropes were specially designed by the UK Bungee team to control the car's projection and swing, ensuring safety in the built-up environment. The filming location, La Défense, was a huge part of the vision for Nissan France. Based loosely on a previous viral video, the urban city vibe, along with the sleek, open design of the cage, was a key element of the concept. The final shots of the Qashqai tumbling down narrowly between towering buildings, reflecting in the sleek glass panes of Paris’ financial sector, was exactly what Nissan France had envisioned. This stunt was a massive collaborative effort, with seamless teamwork between Big Bang, Nissan France, BBC France, the crane company, Groupe Cauvas, and the stunt company, Cascadeurs Action . We’re very pleased to announce that the success of this ambitious project earned Nissan France a Guinness World Record for the Highest Car Bungee. Stunt rider and social media influencer @Laskoshow documented the event and was actively involved throughout the process, adding energy and enthusiasm to the set. French sports journalist Denis Brogniart hosted the advert, and his tight schedule contributed to the swift completion of the project. After the successful shoot, the Big Bang team capped off their adventure with a whistle stop tour of Paris and enjoyed some well-deserved downtime!
- Football Stadium Zip Wire Fundraises Over £30,000!
The Albion Foundation hosts a Zip Wire at The Hawthorns Stadium! This July, Big Bang was lucky enough to be granted access to the Hawthorns Stadium to start the preparation for a truly unique event. Hosted by The Albion Foundation at West Bromwich Albion Football Club's stadium, this exciting spectacle is just one of many fundraising initiatives for The Albion Foundation and will contribute to their vital work within the local community. This spectacular football stadium zip wire spanned over 600 feet across the turf, launching from the Birmingham Road End and coming to land in Millennium Corner. Fun Fact: The Birmingham Road End of the Hawthorns Stadium is the point of ground with the highest altitude above sea level in the football league! After 48 hours of preparation and testing by our team, the main event took place on the 20th and 21st of July 2024. The first zips were completed by Events Coordinators Steve Meeson and Jonathan Ward; a fitting conclusion to their months of successful planning. Over the course of the weekend, the zip wire was taken on by over 300 fans, who managed to raise a whopping £30,440! This incredible fundraising effort will be reinvested into The Albion Foundation and will allow them to continue the worthwhile work they take on within the local community. This experience was undoubtedly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the fans of West Bromwich Football Club; not many football fans can say they’ve completed a 600-ft zip wire over the sacred turf of their team! To really top things off, all participants were treated to a private tour of the changing rooms and other coveted elements of match-day rituals. A collection of photographs were taken of each zip-liner; some during the tour and some snaps from perfectly positioned staff throughout the stadium. Fans made sure to get their poses in while they completed the feat, and were able to take home printed photographs at the end, to encapsulate their experience. Deputy director Ward had nothing but praise regarding the organisation of the event, which ran like a well-oiled, high-flying machine! “I’m delighted with the way this event has panned out,” Ward said. “The organisation and determination of the team has lit up The Hawthorns this weekend, creating a once-in-a-lifetime experience that so many have enjoyed. Huge credit must go to them and their dedication to creating a delightful community experience.” “I’d also like to thank our partners and sponsors for helping to put this event on, West Midlands Safari Park, National Gas, Bache Group, A.Hingley Group, HB Flooring and BHP Design – were hugely grateful for your endeavors. A huge thanks to Big Bang Experiences for setting up this amazing weekend, without them it wouldn’t be possible.” For Big Bang, this event was a resounding success and one that all our crew had a great time being a part of. The figures fundraised by The Albion Foundation are truly astounding and we’re very much looking forward to whatever event collaborations lie in the future.
- Multi-Charity Zip Wire Fundraiser Brings In Over £200,000!
Over the first two weekends in September, our amazing team managed a Charity Zip Wire event with Spina Bifida Hydrocephalus Scotland, who had organised over 1000 fundraisers to take part, across a 6 day period! This included participants from 37 different charities all across Scotland, including 150 fundraisers solely from SBH Scotland themselves, who managed to raise an astonishing £50,000! 🏆Across all 37 charities, an incredibly impressive figure of £200,000 was raised, which can now go towards helping to fund the amazing work and care that each and every one of the charities provides. SBH Scotland provides a lifetime commitment of specialist support and information to all those affected by these lifelong, complex disabilities. No one needs to cope alone; From antenatal support and through all stages in life, they're there for the journey, wherever it may lead. 💗 Each year SBH Scotland’s dedicated team of support and clinical workers provide a range of bespoke services for each member as well as support and social groups, workshops and outings. This level of support costs over £1.5 million each year and with very little statutory funding they rely on the public to get involved with fundraising activities like the Zipslide the Clyde. Spina Bifida is a fault in the spinal column in which one or more vertebrae fail to form properly, leaving a gap or split, causing damage to the nervous system. Some babies with Spina Bifida develop a condition called Hydrocephalus in the womb. Hydrocephalus means ‘water on the brain’, and occurs due to a defect at the base of the brain. Treatments for the birth disorder can often lead to walking and movement disorders among other complications, as well as the risk of learning difficulties. A quote from the charity - ‘This year’s event has been amazing as always, with over 150 people taking part solely for SBH Scotland, and raising nearly £50,000, this is our biggest and best Zipslide to date. We’re so grateful to everyone who stepped outside their comfort zones to take on this thrilling activity which everyone loved! Our grateful thanks also to the amazing team at Big Bang Promotions for such safe and expert running of the event and to Peel L&P for allowing us use of their land.’ ➡ If you're a charity seeking to unlock a fundraising opportunity beyond the ordinary, consider our challenge-fundraising events! Our exhilarating Zipline, Abseil, and Bungee events present a unique chance for charities to join forces with corporate partners, resulting in mutual benefits for all involved. - Twin-Cage Abseil Fundraises over £13,500 In One Day!
Cash For Kids West raises £13,500 with Abseil Event A few weeks ago, Big Bang Promotions teamed up with Cash for Kids West Scotland, for a twin-cage abseil event! This was hosted at the Silverdale Shopping Centre in Glasgow, and saw a total of 70 fundraisers, who managed to raise over £13,500 (and counting!). 🤩 Cash for Kids is a grant giving charity, focusing on supporting the most vulnerable children in our communities; the innocent victims of child poverty. They provide grants during each of the key school holidays; February, Easter, Summer, October and Christmas. This ensures children have access to hot, nutritious meals, activities and day trips, as well as being able to make memories to share with their friends when back at school. 📍 Cash for Kids runs UK wide, in partnership with Bauer media. The Scottish regions, such as Clyde 1 Cash for Kids and Forth 1 Cash for Kids donate 100% of the pounds raised back into helping children in the local community. 🏗 The morning of setting up involved our Big Bang team fastening two of our cages together, in preparation for a twin-cage event. This means that fundraisers were able to complete the accomplishment alongside one another, which brings a sense of comradery whilst calming nerves! Additionally, this means that many more participants can be processed, which in turn increases the amounts that can be raised for these fantastic causes! 📑 A quote from Lisa Gray, Charity Executive Cash for Kids - ‘Thank you to the amazing team at Big Bang Promotions for putting on an abseil for our charity – Cash for Kids. The day went great and ran smoothly. The team were highly skilled and kept the participants calm when they were feeling nervous!’ 👍 Big Bang Promotions would like to say well done to all the participants who were able to raise much needed funds for this great charity, and thank you to Cash for Kids for asking us to be a part of this event. We hope to see you all next year! 🎉 If you're a charitable organisation aiming to tap into an exceptional fundraising opportunity, explore our thrilling challenge-based fundraising events! Our exhilarating Zipline, Abseil, and Bungee experiences offer a distinctive avenue for charities to collaborate with corporate partners, which is mutually beneficial for both parties. These events not only generate significant funds for your cause but also serve as an ideal platform for enhancing relationships with corporate supporters!
