We are pleased to report on another hugely successful event with Spina Bifida Hydrocephalus Scotland! Spread over 3 weekends in August and September, the Big Bang team hosted 9 days of Zip Slide fun for Scottish charities!
This multi-charity zip wire event is now in its third year and continues to grow each year. In 2024, participants from 66 different charities came together to Zip Slide The Clyde. Over the course of the event, an unprecedented £350,000 was raised across roughly 1500 zip liners!
Lyndsey Hamilton, SBH Scotland’s fundraising manager, continues to out-do herself year on year, and this time was able to unite 70 supporters of the SBH community to raise £163,000 for their vital cause.
Spina Bifida is a birth condition for which treatments may sometimes result in walking and movement disorders, as well as increased risk of learning difficulties and other complications. Funds raised by this event will help support SBH Scotland’s dedicated team of clinical workers who provide a range of bespoke services for each member, as well as support and social groups, workshops and outings.
Fundraising Manager Lyndsey Hamilton said “Thanks so much for everything; your team are amazing at what they do and you have so much respect for each of the participants and their stories. It’s always lovely working with you.”
This event also featured a 90-year-old zip liner Gladys Speedie and an entourage which included a BBC News crew! Read our blog post about the coverage here!
