During September 2024, our team had the pleasure of working with KPMG for the second time, to host an incredible day of abseiling from the 15th floor of their office building in Canary Wharf, London.
Kitted up in bright yellow branded t-shirts, this fantastic event saw 255 KPMG employees tackling the lengthy 227-ft abseil, in aid of their outgoing national charity partner Marie Curie. The event marked the final month of a successful three-year partnership which has raised in excess of £1.5million for the charity.
Overall, an outstanding £103, 816 (including gift aid) was raised by the abseil! This remarkable figure reflects the hard work and dedication of everyone involved, and will support Marie Curie’s vital work in palliative care.
Marie Curie are the UK’s leading end of life care charity, and have been providing end of life care and support since 1948. Focusing on pioneering palliative care, Marie Curie also provides in-person, online, and phone support for those with a terminal diagnosis, as well as those suffering from bereavement and loss.
Anya Todd, KPMG’s Strategic Philanthropy & Pro Bono Lead, said “We’re delighted with the results from our 2024 abseil for Marie Curie. Over 250 of our brave colleagues took on the challenge of abseiling off the top of our 15th floor Canary Wharf office roof and they all did incredibly well, both in terms of demonstrating courage and also raising a fantastic amount of money for our National Charity Partner, Marie Curie to mark the close of our successful three-year partnership with them. The Big Bang team were extremely professional and a pleasure to work with.”
Big thanks to Anya Todd and Caitlin Mills, Marie Curie’s Partnerships Lead, for inviting us back to enjoy a second year of this hugely exciting event!
