The Cast Of E4's The Real Dirty Dancing Take On Tandem Bungee Jump!

To mark 35 years since the release of the film 'Dirty Dancing', E4 coupled together 5 pairs of celebrities, who would compete to be crowned the next Baby and Johnny.
Hosted by Keith Lemon and Ashley Roberts, the celebrity line-up included Anthea Turner, Lee Ryan, James Argent, Marnie Simpson, Darren Harriott, Saffron Barker, Verona Rose, Tom Malone Jr, Bobby Seagull and Chelsee Healey. Â
Our brand UK Bungee Club made their appearance into this TV dance show on Episode 7 of the first series. The premise of the episode was centered around a trust exercise to ensure they're comfortable with each other when performing the famous Dirty Dancing lift.
E4 reached out to us about the proposed project in Spring of 2021, and by the end of Summer, we were all ready to go. The crew travelled down to a site in the South, and got to work setting up for a day of Tandem Bungee Jumps.
It was only on the day of filming that the cast were informed of what they would be doing - Tandem Bungee Jumps! It was explained that this was to build and instil trust between the partners, and to overcome any fears they may have of the iconic Dirty Dancing lift, which was a key move in the final dance.
Tom and Chelsee were both feeling the most confident out of all the couples and were volunteered to go first. Up in the crane they went! It was only when they reached the top did they fully realise what they were about to do, and fear started to set in. Helped along by the '3, 2, 1, Bungee' countdown, the pair were able to make the leap of faith, before being safely landed by our Bungee crew.
When asked about the experience, they recalled being very nervous initially, but agreed that they both had much more trust in each other after the jump. Success!
Bobby and Vernoa were next, followed by Anthea and Arg. Both couples were a bit more anxious this time, with Arg gripping very tightly to the edge of the cage and Anthea putting on a brave face to help him along. After the feat, both couples agreed they now felt more confident in doing the famous lift.
Darren and Marnie were the 4th couple to jump. This was a challenge; with Marnie being extremely scared of heights, Darren had to do his very best to distract her. However, when they time to jump came around, it was actually Darren that let out the louder screams!
It was time for the final pair, Saffron and Lee. Lee was very reluctant when his turn rolled around, but after some words of encouragement from Saffron and our crew, they both finally took the plunge!
Overall, each couple agreed that they now felt more trust in each other, and felt more confident when thinking about the Dirty Dancing lift in the final episode
