Access Group Catapult Raises Over £55,000 for Young Lives vs Cancer!
On June 10th, our team had the pleasure of working with Access Group on a unique event - a Catapult challenge, also known as a reverse bungee. Unlike typical bungee jumps, this one launched participants skyward from the ground, powered by high-tension ropes - it’s often considered less intimidating than a traditional bungee, but just as thrilling!

Access Group, known for its strong commitment to corporate social responsibility, selects a charity each year and organises a wide range of staff-led fundraising activities. After a successful collaboration with us in 2024 on an abseil event, the Access team wanted something a little different this time around, and the Catapult didn’t disappoint.
What began as a half-day Catapult and half-day abseil quickly turned into a full day of Catapulting, thanks to overwhelming interest from Access Group employees. All 50 spots were snapped up, with staff eager to take on this rare adrenaline-pumping challenge.
As well as providing an exciting day of fundraising, this event had a powerful purpose. Together, Access Group employees raised over £27,000 in support of Young Lives vs Cancer. The company then matched the donations, bringing the total to an incredible £55,265!

Janet Draycott, who organised the event for Access, gave some feedback from participants:
“On the ground, feedback was that everyone loved it! It was great and has brought a normal office day to a different level.”
These funds will make a real difference. Young Lives vs Cancer supports children and young people facing cancer, along with their families, offering financial, emotional, practical, and clinical support. The money donated by Access will fund hardship grants, helping ease the financial strain of cancer treatment by covering essentials such as travel, accommodation in their free ‘Homes from Home’ near hospitals, and other critical expenses. This allows families to focus on what matters most.
The Catapult was just one part of a much larger fundraising effort by Access Group throughout the year. In June alone, their activities included a London to Amsterdam cycle, a UK Gala, the Three Peaks Challenge, the Big Ness Walk (a five-day trek around Loch Ness), and £ The Pavement: Loughborough 20km Walk.
We’re proud to have partnered with Access Group once again on such an impactful and memorable event. From last year’s abseil to this year’s Catapult, it’s been a pleasure supporting their fundraising efforts and we’re excited to see what inspiring challenges and collaborations the future holds!
