The Albion Foundation Abseil Raises Over £6,000 at The Hawthorns

We're delighted to share the results from a recent charity abseil delivered in partnership with The Albion Foundation at West Bromwich Albion's iconic Hawthorns Stadium.

Following a successful zip wire event in 2024, we returned to The Hawthorns on 18th July to deliver another fundraising challenge. More than 50 participants descended from the iconic Birmingham Road Stand, experiencing the stadium from a new perspective while raising over £6,000 to support The Albion Foundation's disability provision and wider community programmes.

Supporting Inclusive Opportunities Through Sport

The funds raised will help support The Albion Foundation's Disability Provision, which provides inclusive sporting opportunities for children, young people and adults with disabilities.

Through SEND programmes, pan-disability football sessions, elite disability teams and community activities, the Foundation helps participants build confidence, develop new skills, stay active and enjoy the many benefits of sport in a welcoming and supportive environment. Their mission is to remove barriers to participation and empower people to reach their full potential, both on and off the pitch. You can find out more here.

The event brought together lifelong Albion supporters, first-time fundraisers and people overcoming a fear of heights, all taking on the challenge to support a fantastic cause.

Friends, family and Foundation staff cheered participants on throughout the day, creating a brilliant atmosphere around the stadium - it was great to see so many people complete the abseil and hear such positive feedback afterwards.
