Whichever experience you’re taking on, the thrill of adventure should never come at the cost of safety. At Big Bang Experiences, we’ve built our reputation on the belief that risk should be calculated, not careless.

In this blog, we’ll discuss the four key principles of safety, and what this means for your event.

The four core values of our safety fundamentals are:

  • Competency

  • Redundant Backups

  • Independently Inspected Equipment

  • Informed Participation

Competency - Only qualified pros where it counts the most

Safety starts with people. That means ensuring only highly trained, competent professionals are in charge of every safety-critical aspect of your experience. This ensures that every aspect of your activity is managed by qualified experts who prioritise the well-being of participants.

Redundant Backups - Because one line of defense is never enough

Participant safety is our top priority and we take redundancy seriously. Each component of our system has a parallel backup system that is of equal or greater strength. These redundant backups remain inactive unless the primary system encounters a failure. In the event of such a rare occurrence, the redundant backup seamlessly takes over, ensuring the continued safety of our equipment and staff.

This commitment extends to our crew checks. Every part of the system, from harnesses to connections, undergoes separate inspections by at least two qualified crew members. This double-check process ensures that no detail is overlooked, and safety is never compromised.

Independently Inspected Equipment - Every piece of gear is vetted, tested & trusted

To further guarantee your safety, all our equipment undergoes independent inspections to ensure they meet the highest safety standards. These regular inspections provide an additional layer of confidence, knowing that every piece of equipment you use has been rigorously examined and approved for safe use.

Informed Participation - Empowered participants make safer choices

We believe that informed participation is essential. Every participant in our activities receives comprehensive information about the activity they are about to undertake. They are made aware of the potential risks involved, empowering them to make an informed decision about whether to proceed. Participant safety matters, and we respect participants choices at every step of the way.

Before any experience, participants are always asked to read our Health Warning Notice, which is specifically tailored to the activity they’re about to undertake. They are encouraged to ask questions and let us know if anything applies to them.

Through implementing these strict practices, we have proudly conducted thousands of safe and secure high-risk activities over the last 30 years. Safety isn’t just a checklist, it’s a culture.
