James Bond Bungee Jump - 007: Road To A Million Launches on Amazon Prime!
The wait is over - Season 2 of 007: Road To A Million premiered on Amazon Prime on Friday 22nd August, featuring our spectacular 700-ft bungee jump in the opening credits.
This high-stakes game show sees nine everyday pairs face daring stunts inspired by the James Bond cinematic universe. Guided by actor Brian Cox as The Controller, contestants progress through a series of challenges, banking cash along the way, all with the aim of reaching the ultimate £1 million prize in the final episode.
The season opens with a sequence paying homage to the iconic GoldenEye intro. After a fast-paced montage introducing the teams, one contestant from each pair takes on the jaw-dropping 700-ft bungee jump from Luzzone Dam.
While the original GoldenEye scene was filmed at the Contra Dam, the production team chose the Luzzone Dam for this stunt for several reasons. Its backdrop and surrounding landscape offered more striking, cinematic views, giving the sequence a stronger visual appeal. Contra Dam also hosts a commercial bungee jumping site, but jumps there are made from the side rather than straight on. In the end, Luzzone Dam was preferred as it allowed the team to more closely replicate the look and feel of the original scene.
Having previously worked at Luzzone Dam on the Top Gear Car Bungee, our UK Bungee Club and Big Bang Experiences teams were already familiar with the venue. For this stunt, the preparation was extensive, from handcrafting the enormous bungee ropes in-house at our Barnsley workshop to spending over a week on location. Behind the scenes, the team worked alongside health & safety specialists Remote Trauma to bring the spectacle to life and turn movie magic into reality.
It was an incredible project to be part of, and we’re proud to see our work featured in such a high-profile production. 007: Road To A Million is streaming now on Amazon Prime. We’ll certainly be watching.
