Over €46,500 Raised for Ronald McDonald House Charities at The Big Bang Abseil Dublin!

Big Bang Experiences recently hosted another exciting edition of our multi-charity event, The Big Bang Abseil!

Taking place in Dublin on May 30th and 31st at The Smithfield Generator, Dublin, this exciting event brought together five fantastic charities for two great days of fundraising. We had the pleasure of working alongside each of them, and it was a joy to support their efforts from start to finish!

We’re thrilled to share the fundraising total from our biggest group of the weekend, Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC).

Thanks to 60 enthusiastic fundraisers taking on the 190-foot descent, RMHC raised an incredible €46,573.97! This amazing achievement will go towards the charity’s €1 million project to fully furnish and equip the new 52-bedroom Ronald McDonald House beside the newly completed children’s hospital. It’s a vital space that helps keep families close to their seriously ill children when they need it most.

RMHC Head of Development, Louise Quail, shared some lovely participant feedback from the day:

‘The feedback has been so positive as always! Many of the abseilers mentioned how well-organised the experience was. Some were nervous beforehand but said the encouragement from the Big Bang team made them feel completely at ease at the top of the tower. Several even said they’d love to do it again, which is always a great sign!’

In addition to their incredible fundraisers, RMHC was supported by their headline event sponsor, Mitie, a long-time partner of the charity. On the day, participants were also treated to goodie bags, generously filled by Boyne Valley, Coca-Cola, Foodcloud, Kellogg’s, Mars, and Nestlé.

Louise Quail also shared her own thoughts on the abseil event:

‘We are delighted with how the Generator Abseil went, both in terms of fundraising and participation! It was such a brilliant day, and we're so grateful to everyone who took part. It was a pleasure working with Hannah and the team. Their professionalism, energy, and attention to detail really helped make the day run smoothly.’

Hearing stories like this makes us so proud of what these events can achieve. We’re over the moon with the success of RMHC’s team, and we can’t wait to hear how our other participating charities did at The Big Bang Abseil Dublin!
