Twickenham Zip Wire 2025 - Charity Highlights So Far!

Following the success of the Twickenham Zip Wire 2025 at Allianz Stadium, the home of English Rugby, we’ve started hearing back from some of the incredible charities who took part.

Out of 15 charities, four have already shared their results, and together, they’ve raised well over £15,000 so far, with more updates still to come.

Here’s what some of them had to say:

Ruils – Supporting Independent Living

3 participants – over £2,000 raised

Ruils, a charity supporting disabled children and adults to live as independently as possible, took on the zip to raise funds for their befriending service, which helps train new volunteers to support lonely and isolated people.

“Thank you so much for organising this event, I absolutely loved it and, despite being pretty nervous beforehand, I found the zip line incredibly exhilarating. The whole event was extremely well organised by the Big Bang event team, and it was so lovely to meet Avril, Jack, Carolyn and their families, and to be a part of something to help make a bit of a difference.” — Sam, Ruils fundraiser

Emily from Ruils added that they “loved the event and were pleased with the result considering it’s a new addition to their fundraising calendar”  and are already keen to return next year!

Down’s Syndrome Association

4 participants – £1,273 raised

The Down’s Syndrome Association team zipped in style, raising over £1,200 to help continue their vital work supporting individuals and families across the UK. Their enthusiasm on the day was a brilliant example of fundraising through fun!

Vetlife - Supporting Veterinary Communities

15 participants – over £10,000 raised

Vetlife, a charity providing mental health, financial, and emotional support to the veterinary community, saw a fantastic turnout with 15 participants and corporate sponsors combining to raise over £10,000.

“The Big Bang team were fantastic, so friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout the day. They made everyone feel at ease and helped make the event such a fun and enjoyable experience. Thank you!”

A brilliant effort for an equally brilliant cause.

Cross Roads Care Richmond & Kingston

2 participants – £2,000 raised

Cross Roads Care, which provides home and community respite to unpaid carers, joined us with two brave fundraisers, Margaret and Rob. Nicola, the charity’s Operations Manager, said:

“We loved that we could be part of it and actually watch our fundraisers. One of our mentor students who came along was really inspired.”

One of their fundraisers shared:

“I was absolutely terrified and was shaking when I finished, but I wanted to do this for Crossroads, a local charity that provides vital home and community respite to unpaid carers. Every penny that you have given will help carers to have a much-needed break, so thank you to everyone who has donated - we really do appreciate it.”
