£27,000+ Fundraised with Abseil at Barnsley Hospice!

It’s been great to hear the amazing fundraising success following the Barnsley Hospice abseil we facilitated last month!

Held on Sunday 18th May, this was a particularly meaningful event for us, not just because it was right on our doorstep, but because it gave us the chance to support a brilliant local cause. As a Barnsley-based events company, partnering with a charity so central to our community made this one feel extra special.

Throughout the day, around 50 enthusiastic fundraisers took on the challenge and made the thrilling descent, and their courage paid off. Together, they raised an incredible £27,000 in support of Barnsley Hospice, helping to fund their specialist palliative care for individuals living with life-limiting and terminal illnesses.

The feedback has been nothing short of heartwarming. Over on Barnsley Hospice’s Facebook page, there’s been a lot of positivity from both participants and supporters. The hospice also took the time to thank their event sponsors - including Ardagh Group, Rapid Response Telecoms Ltd., and Barnsley Brickwork LTD - along with Barnsley College, JP Scaffolding Solutions Ltd., and us here at Big Bang Experiences for our support on the day.

After the big day, Hannah Clarkson, the hospice’s Challenge Events Manager, got in touch:
