Abseil Raises Over £70,000 for Clatterbridge Cancer Centre!
This Sunday, 12th October, Big Bang Experiences once again teamed up with our long-standing partner, Clatterbridge Cancer Charity, for another incredible abseil in Liverpool. Now in its third year, the event was another huge success!
It was a busy day, with 100 fundraisers taking on the 150-ft descent at The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre Abseil in Liverpool.
Together they’ve already raised more than £70,000. This means that Clatterbridge supporters have raised £200,000 from this annual abseil event across three events in the last four years; an outstanding achievement made possible by their passionate community of fundraisers and supporters.
Clatterbridge Cancer Charity is the only Charity dedicated to supporting the incredible work of The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre NHS Foundation Trust. With three main cancer centres in Liverpool, Wirral, and Aintree, plus outreach chemotherapy clinics across the region, Clatterbridge provides non-surgical cancer care such as chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and pioneering gene and eye cancer therapies.
It also has an active research department with clinical trials into new cutting-edge treatments for patients. The Charity has committed to raising £5 million for research over five years.
Mark Parkinson, Events Fundraising Manager at Clatterbridge Cancer Charity, shared some glowing feedback on the event:

The entire team know exactly what to do, are all very positive and cheery, and are very professional. The patience, kindness, and enthusiasm shown to our participants throughout was amazing – we’ll see you again.’
Along with good weather, one particularly memorable moment saw an abseiler with an electric guitar entertaining the crowd at the top, adding an extra layer of fun and energy to the day.
