Over £40,000 Raised by Hospital Abseil with King's College Hospital Charity!
Earlier this month, our crew had a fantastic time supporting an abseil event with King's College Hospital Charity! Taking place on Friday 4th & Saturday 5th of September, this event saw around 86 members of #TeamKings, from staff members to patients, taking on the descent in support of the hospital.
We’re pleased to say the event was a huge success! A hugely deserved £40,347 was raised as a direct result of the abseil. These funds will go where they’re needed most, supporting the charity’s goal in changing lives and pioneering care across all of King’s.

There’s been some brilliant feedback from participants, including some lovely words from Masie, who’s been receiving treatment from King’s since she was a baby, and has been attending appointments for over 27 years for chronic liver disease. We’ve heard she was keen to complete the abseil to thank the team and to show that she’s strong, resilient and determined - all great reasons! Masie said:
‘A massive thank you to the team for making the day so memorable and special to me. It was an absolute pleasure and privilege meeting you and supporting the beautiful King's who have made me the person I am now.’
The photos speak for themselves - this was a hugely positive day; supporters, team members, patrons, and patients were all cheering each other on with the help of bright yellow King’s pom-poms! We loved hearing from Abbey Harnwell, the charity’s Community and Events Fundraising Manager, on how she felt the event went:
